 The Boulder Police Department offers internships during the spring and fall semester. Department interns work an average of 10 hours a week for the duration of the semester. Interns spend time in each section of the Department, working with Patrol Officers, Detectives, Dispatch, Records and Information Services, Community Services, and more.

In order to participate in our internship program, you must:

  • Be a Junior or Senior
  • Be currently enrolled in college
  • Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
  • Possess a valid state driver's license
  • Have engaged in no criminal activity in the last three to five years (including drug usage)

If you are interested in applying, print an application, a personal history statement and a records check form, complete those and submit them to Diane Herzberg. Also include a letter of intent explaining why you are interested in being a BPD intern. a letter of recommendation from a professor and a copy of your unofficial transcripts.

The application deadline for fall semester is July 31st and November 30th for the spring semester.
